  • HID - anyone experience this?

Got a plug and play 35W 6000K HID hi and lo kit from here
    http://www.hidworld.com/cart.php?target ... ory_id=250

Every once in a while the offside lamp does not turn on especially from cold, if I turn the lights off then back on invariably it comes on, on the second attempt.

I've done the following to address the problem; -

    Swapped over the lamps

    Swapped the igniters over

Swapped over the relay for a new replacement one

    Installed a new replacement igniter

Checked all the wiring connections and routing for chaffing etc

Checked cable/battery terminal tightness and integrity

Checked earth/cable terminal tightness and integrity

And still it persists................one thought was possibly a small volt drop given the csa of the cable and relative length of run compared to the nearside harness

    Anyone else experienced this???????

Don't worry one day soon I'll have some good news

    Faulty igniter unit.

You can get the exact same kits on Ebay for under $150 delivered.

That would be my thought too except he states he has replaced it already.

I would have to say that there is a bad earth somewhere.

I currently have a bad ballast that I am waiting on the warranty replacement to arrive so I can swap it out. It will start ignite the globe but after a few seconds it will die.
