  • AUX in Prado problem {Solved}

    Today I bought an AUX Interface to connect the iPOD to the Prado Radio (standard, no navi)

    Refering to the compatibility list it should work with Yaris, Avensis, Corolla, Picnic and RAV4, with compatible Radios from Fijitsu Ten und Matsushita.

    Installation was easy, all plug&play, all connections fit perfectly.

    Ok, power on, Radio works, iPOD works

    But now something strange happens. After around 2 minutes the sound slowly fades away until it's gone (both radio and iPOD). If you unplug the electronic adapter-box it works all fine again.

    If you reconnect the box after half an hour it works again for 2 minutes....

    Did somebody experience this also? Is the Prado radio different to the other Toyota devices (the plugs fit 100%) or are they compatible?

    Is there any trick to stop the radio from fading down?

    wolfgang.
    all toyota radio's, pretty well from 1992 have the same audio connection plugs.
    i haven't got this radio or this cable, so can't help you there.
    when the volume fades down to nothing, does the display change,
    e.g. display the volume decreasing?

        Hi damonat and Nick,

        I re-installed the whole cabling and suddenly it works perfectly. :roll: I hope it stays like that. I would have been surprised if the Prado radio behaves different to other Toyota radios even is the connectors are the same.

        Now I finally have the complete music collection with me when driving and the whole thing was less than 90 US$ / 65 Euro.
