G'day Matt ... haven't you got that winch in yet ???
Everyone I spoke to (even some knowledgeable blokes) were saying that you should hook your winch power up to the starter battery ... because most blokes tend to run a deep cycle battery as their AUX battery .... and heavy winching off a deep cycle battery sucks its guts out.
I've got my winch hooked up to the second battery ... but they are identical Exides ... and the Redarc allows me open the circuit and use both batteries ... hence the big cable between them.
.... but then I have the advantage of carting a deep cycle battery in the CT.
There's bound to be a heap more spark savvy blokes on PP who can either confirm or deny this.
Cheers
