Well , Here is a few Pics on the stereo install I just conducted.

A few things to note:

The factory stereo is larger in size then a normal off the shelf model - found that out after taking out the dash.

DNA make a plastic pocket with extension arms supplied to fit the dash
Part No: WHP702

Other then that, majority of the install went off with out a hitch

Removal of the factory unit - and a big thank you to all who have submitted on how to remove the surronding panels. Talk about making a job realy easy

This is a pic of the plastic pocket from DNA.

The stereo and pocket trial mounted. Had to remove the stereo mounting bracket, as it would not fit with the plastic pocket. Not to worry, the plastic pocket has bolt holes on the side, so the stereo is bolted in - for now.

Stereo trial fit to center dash. Nice snug fit

And the end result. Ended up having to cut and splice wires due to the fact I could not find the right preformed connectors. Still the whole operation took about 2 hours to complete.

Well done......Neat fit with the pocket.

If anyone fits an aftermarket double din deck then they can get the Genuine Toyota Echo wing pieces to fit the sides of the new deck due to the Prado one being rounded....

Yep nice work :D
Bet the pocket comes in handy.

Why did you replace the Toyota one?

Sorry for not replying earlier, but been busy with xmas and work.

I replaced the standard due to the fact that the 03 model only has am/fm/cd. Iwanted something that could play MP3.

The one I brought has also got the capability of pluging in my creative zen mp3 player via front 3.5mm socket.

Also like the fact that i know have a front pocket where i can stash things.
