I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on what fellow PradoPointers do for a living. Any responses stating you are a retired porn star will be ignored. :-) (Because if they are true, I don't wanna know  )
My job title is Technical Officer, Flight Simulation. I work for the world's largest full flight simulator manufacturer, CAE. I maintain the flight simulators for the Royal Australian Air Force Airlift Training Facility at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW.
It's a very interesting job, the flight simulators are very complicated and there's no end to the learning. The flight simulators are designed to the highest level of realism to the point that one hour of training in the simulator equals one hour in the aircrew's logbook. Aviation is one of my hobbies so that helps make the job all the more enjoyable.
I've always considered joining the RAAF, by my wife is the career woman with a Master's Degree so it wouldn't be fair dragging her around the country on Her Majesty's wishes. So this job is great as I get to do what I wanted in the RAAF but still remain a Civilian so I wont get sent to push George's wheelbarrow in the desert.
Late shifts and not seeing my new little daughter for a week at a time gives me the shits, but it could be worse, at least I don't have to work weekends.
I've worked in this industry for five years, I'm in my mid 30's. I used to be in the retail/wholesale management game before this.
So fire away, what pays your bills?
Drew.
