Ok Scott

I know you shouldn't answer a question with a question BUT, I'll show my complete ignorance and be the 1st to ask...............................
WITF is an "Optitron Combination Meter" :?:

BTW, Google didn't give me much info.

Cheers

Other than the visual aspect, is there any advantage of this display over the standard ?

Think you mean Trip computer (Like Scan guage II) not trip meter........have not seen a car with no trip meter these days.....trip computer is different.....

I think he means the trip computer (actually known as the MFD, Multi function display)
Sits above the radio in the Grande and does, Clock?, Avg Kmh, Litres per 100km instant, Litres per 100 Km AVG, Compass, time left to travel? (maybe thats my commodore!) time travelled, Altimeter, Barometer, Outside temperature.

The trip meter is under the speedo (small LCD readout) and gives ODOmeter, Tripmeter A and Tripmeter B.

The Kmh & RPM indicator dials I thought were the same in all Prados? Mind you I have only drove the VX & Grande. They are what is called the Optitron meters (lexus spindown technology).

The hilux has a basic trip MFD as well, but the buttons are so tiny you press two at one time!

Ground speed, Indicated Airspeed, True Airspeed, Angle of Attack, Total Air Temperature, TACAN/DME Distance, Localizer Deviation, Flight Director, Vertical Speed... oh that's my B707.

One for the pilots among us (well John).
