  • Removal of Interior Door Panels

Hi gang, can any one tell me how to do this? There are no external screws of any kind to lead me as to how to do this. I am considering replacing the OEM speakers, they just sound horrible..... Any help would be appreciated 8)

Havent done it to the prado yet but my general experiance with Toyota's (i used to have a rola) is that things tend to "pop" out.... it's an underving feeling but other than a screw behind the door opener, and probably one or two hidden in the interior handle, if you start at the bottom right corner and pull you'll soon get the idea..

I am of the same opinion

I have a set of pioneer splits and 6x9 pioneer speakers also a 200w 4 channel amp Its a sweet sounding system

I have had the Drivers Trim half off to see what size the front speakers were They look like 6x9. the lower door trim just pulls out but have not worked out how to remove fully.

I was thinking about mounting the 6x9 in the rear of the car where the two storage olles are in the boot

The only trouble with fitting an amp to the factory head unit is there are no RCA outputs. Apparently the head unit can be taken appart and be modified

I don't know why you would bother. other than the age of the speakers them selves? my standard speakers/system in a gxl, cranks hard!!!!! i have plenty of mates, with 4K+++ ound system in there new falocns qand commodores that are still trying to get to quality of the GXL. just leave it till the speaker are f ucked!!!!!!!!

            cheers

you may have already considered it too, but last time i replaced OEM speakers on my magna the headunit didn't have enough power to run them. in that case, the head unit was only putting out a powerful 5w, and speakers were around 10w so it worked ok, but as soon as i put in 300w 6x9's the quality was very very very ordinary until i replaced the headunit with something more powerful...

sorry for my english, to remove interior door panel you must:
                1) remove window control, just use some plastic on the top side of the control and pop out
                2) remote arm rest, just pop out
                3) remove blending? under door opener
                4) then remove 3 screws, 1st under arm rest, 2nd under window control, 3rd under door opener
                5) then remove the "plastic screw" on the right upper side of the door, if you look at ineterior side
                6) then pop out the whole panel, just pull on the bottom (two "holes" on the bottom side of interior plastic panel)
                7) some clicks
                8) panel removed

It is the "blending" which I cant seem to be able to remove without risking breaking something, I think I will go for it regardless and see what happens, the dealer is five minutes away and should have the parts in case I need them! Thanks for your help though!

Just pull on the opposite side of handle. If you arent kind of rambo you can't destroy anything As my girlfriend said, J120 is lego.
